WOLF PACK! My grandfather and mom went to NCSU; my mom went to Broughton in Raleigh. I went to Norm Sloan's b-ball camp as a kid and some of my fondest hoops' memories are from/in Reynolds. Indeed, I have a framed and signed poster at home of my favorite all time player scoring in the NCAA semi-finals over Bill Walton. I told Bill the same at the day after dark star Greek show. He laughed and agreed David Thompson was the best. (close second for me was Len Bias at Maryland - what a stud. And I still say James Worthy was a better player in college than MJ; MJ's pro career should not elevate his college career)

BTW, I was front row Omni in Atlanta for the start of the cardiac pack run in the 1983 ACC Tourney. Good trivia question - who were Ralph Sampson's last two college losses to? NCSU - in the ACC Finals and then Western Regional Finals. Thurl Bailey was magnificent.

Good to see the ACC lending support to the Wake folks. Big Four! (but I know we can agree on a go to hell carolina go to hell)

Thurl Bailey was the man. Very underrated.
I was at NCSU from 85 thru 90. Got to experience the Valvano years and Reynolds. Never been to a better place for a basketball game.
I agree about James Worthy - one of the few Carolina boys I could ever pull for. I remember the 88 NBA Finals. They were going on during Summer Tour and thats all we watched in the motel trying to escape from the HEAT!
But Len Bias was the best. Saw him play at Reynolds once and I still think he is the greatest ball player I have ever seen. Too bad what happened.

Glad to see you concur re Bias. I saw him take a team of nobodies on his shoulder to win ACC Tourney one year. He was magnificent - man among boys. Celtics still recovering.

Nice to see Sidney Lowe returning to take over the program. He did a nice job last season (LOVED that win over UNC) and I think the wolfpack faithful should be pretty pleased with things as they develop (just give him some time...)

I really like the hiring of Sidney Lowe. Any Valvano disciple can't be a bad thing. The UNC win was awesome. You know what they say - "Anybody but Carolina".
He did have some rough press earlier this year. His kid was arrested in a shooting over a drug deal gone bad on the UNCG campus. Sidney had to be all over the news while bailing him out. I know this doesn't really affect Sidney or his coaching, but sometimes the press can be pretty rough and Wolfpack nation has never been known for patience.
I just hope he gets the time he needs to show what he can do.
